Origin and raw materials
Daxueshan Ancient Tree Pu'er Tea is mainly produced in the Daxueshan area of Mengku Town, Shuangjiang County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province. The ancient tree tea here grows in the primitive forest at an altitude of 2200-2300 meters, which is rarely visited by humans and has inconvenient transportation, making it very difficult to pick. The picking standard is usually one bud with one leaf or one bud with two leaves, ensuring the high quality of tea leaves.
Production process
Daxueshan Pu'er tea is handmade using traditional methods, including picking, stir fixation, rolling, drying, and fermentation. The tea leaves are harvested around early April, when the quality is optimal. Stir fixation is the process of breaking down enzyme activity in tea leaves through high temperatures to maintain their green color. Rolling and twisting can damage the tea cells, making it easier for subsequent fermentation. Drying allows the moisture in tea leaves to naturally evaporate, creating a unique aroma and taste. Fermentation changes the chemical composition of tea leaves through microbial action, forming the unique flavor of Pu'er tea.
Characteristics
Appearance: The leaf shape is neat, color is dark green,stripes are tightly tied, and the leaf base color is red or dark reddish brown.
Aroma: At the beginning of brewing, it emits a faint aroma of plants and trees. As the number of times it is brewed increases, it gradually emits complex aromas such as floral and fruity scents.
Taste: Full on the palate, with a mellow and smooth texture, strong aftertaste and moisturizing properties. After entering, a fresh and refreshing feeling will permeate the mouth.
Color: After brewing, the tea soup has a bright red color and a strong and long-lasting aroma.
